ROH on Honor Club Episode 98 Preview

The first edition of ROH ON HONOR CLUB for 2025 saw QT Marshall earn a future ROH World TV Title bout by lasting ten minutes with Komander, ROH Women's World TV Champion Red Velvet defeat Stardom's HANAKO to retain her belt, and featured ROH Legend “The Notorious 187” Homicide reunite with long-time ally Rocky Romero for tag team competition! Well Thursday night is upon us once again and that means an all-new edition of ROH ON HONOR CLUB coming your way! Tonight we will see ROH World Champion Chris Jericho in the House of Honor with “Bad Apple” Bryan Keith at his side but he won't be the only champion in the house! ROH Women's World TV Champion Red Velvet will step onto the Proving Ground to give a potential challenger an opportunity, and ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty will be in tag action alongside Shane Taylor to take on Gates of Agony!

All that, and plenty more, is coming your way when ROH ON HONOR CLUB kicks off tonight at 7pm ET/6pm CT exclusively on Honor Club! Not only is Honor Club the spot for Ring of Honor's weekly programming every Thursday night, but it's also your destination for ROH pay-per-view events, as well as the home for 20+ years of wrestling history as best evidenced by the “Best of...” section with compilations featuring Kenny Omega, Claudio Castagnoli, Adam Cole, and the Women of Honor collection dropping this week!!

THE NUEVE IN THE HOUSE OF HONOR!

When last we saw “The Nueve” Chris Jericho on Ring of Honor, he was victorious in his ROH World Title defense against “The Complete” Matt Cardona at FINAL BATTLE 2024. It may have taken the combined efforts of Jericho, “The Redwood” Big Bill, “Bad Apple” Bryan Keith, and the ROH World Title belt, but at least “The Nueve” left the Hammerstein Ballroom still the World Champion. Tonight during HONOR CLUB, we welcome the World Champion back to the House of Honor but just what does Jericho aim to accomplish with his return tonight? Tune in to find out what “The Nueve” Chris Jericho and his “Bad Apple” have in store for Ring of Honor!

THE PROVING GROUND...

At FINAL BATTLE 2024 Red Velvet escaped her ROH Women's World TV Title defense against Leyla Hirsch in large part thanks to a wrench she pulled out from under the ring. It was a dirty trick pulled straight from Hirsch's old playbook, literally the same way Hirsch defeated Red on the March 23, 2022 DYNAMITE, and clearly the defending champion never forgot no matter how much time had passed.

As can be heard in that video above, Leyla has regrets about how she conducted business then but it lends her a bit of understanding for how Red Velvet has chosen to operate as champion. That understanding doesn't mean Hirsch is going to let what happened at Hammerstein stand without repercussion, and it seems like the ROH Women's World TV Champion is amenable to a championship rematch but “on her time”, whenever that may be.

In the mean time, while “Legit” Leyla Hirsch awaits another title fight, Red Velvet is stepping onto the Proving Ground for the third time since winning the title at DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR 2024. Will Red Velvet turn away another potential challenger tonight during ROH ON HONOR CLUB?

TAG TEAM BOUT...

Shane Taylor Promotions (ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty & Shane Taylor) vs.

Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona)

While Shane Taylor Promotions may be riding high after last week's victory in an eight-man tag, tonight they have to come back to solid ground for what will undoubtedly be one of the toughest tag team fights they could take on. In this case, it's STP as represented by ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty and its figurehead Shane Taylor, and it's the latter of the two that adds a whole other level to this bout.

It was almost four years ago, during ROH WRESTLING #492 on 2/19/21, that Shane Taylor, Kaun, and Moses captured the ROH World Six-Man Titles from MexiSquad. The three men held those titles for a total of 295 days, the third-longest reign in ROH history, and are the winningest champions with 11 successful defenses during that time. That reign came to an end at FINAL BATTLE 2021: END OF AN ERA, but it was without Shane Taylor even involved as he took on a Fight Without Honor against Kenny King that night.

That means the last time Bishop Kaun and Shane Taylor stood on the same side of a fight was December 9, 2021 on the ROAD TO FINAL BATTLE 2021 and it wouldn't be until the 10/25/24 edition of RAMPAGE that they shared a ring again. That night it was on opposite sides of a Three-Way Tag with Undisputed Kingdom, with Matt Taven and Mike Bennett winning at Moriarty's expense, but tonight there will be no one else in the way. Tonight Shane Taylor and Bishop Kaun will meet on the battlefield once more, but will it be STP or GoA who walks away from this tag team battle with a victory?

ONE-ON-ONE...

STP's Trish Adora vs. Harley Cameron

Back on HONOR CLUB #68, in her debut bout for Ring of Honor, Harley Cameron scored a solid victory over Trish Adora and since then she's amassed a 3-2 record in ROH, most recently scoring a victory over Ashley Vox just last week. Adora, on the other hand, is 2-1 in ROH competition since that loss to Harley and has since aligned herself with Shane Taylor Promotions. That new attitude brought Trish to victory over Rachael Ellering a few weeks ago, and now she's looking for it to even the score with Harley Cameron tonight during HONOR CLUB! Will Adora's new-found aggression bring her a third consecutive victory, or will she feel the wrath of Harley as Cameron prepares to fight AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May on COLLISION?

ONE-ON-ONE...

Blake Christian vs. Serpentico

After a breakout night at FINAL BATTLE 2024 as one of the last two competitors in the ROH World TV Title Survival of the Fittest Elimination match, not to mention a shocking moment where he drilled Mark Davis in the groin to eliminate him, Blake Christian has found new life in his ROH career! After racking up a frustrating 9-18 record through December 20th, Blake took the feeling he got from FB '24 and parlayed that into victory over AR Fox on HONOR CLUB #96: BOXING DAY BRAWL! Tonight he looks to make it two in a row when he meets Serpentico in a rematch from the 2/7/23 edition of AEW DARK! Can Blake keep the momentum building now that he's found himself in the scheme of ROH, or will he get bit by the snakeman?

ALSO FEATURING:

-Iron Savages' Boulder vs. Griff Garrison!

-Rachael Ellering vs. Queen Aminata!

-Billie Starkz in action!

-MxM Collection in tag team competition!

-And an ROH Classic featuring Sumie Sakai vs. HAZUKI from ROH WRESTLING #357!

After the conclusion of ROH ON HONOR CLUB, the Nigel McGuinness: The Road Less Traveled documentary first seen by fans at the Hammerstein Ballroom prior to FINAL BATTLE 2024 will be made available for the very first time! Do not miss out on this emotionally charged production exclusively available on Honor Club!
