ROH on Honor Club Episode 101 Preview

Last week ROH ON HONOR CLUB hit the 100th episode milestone highlighted by a hard-hitting Katsuyori Shibata/Shane Taylor battle, an ROH World TV Title bout between Komander and QT Marshall, as well as Taya Valkyrie versus Lady Frost, and much, much more! This week the action continues with a Women's World TV Championship bout between Red Velvet and Leila Grey, ROH World Tag Champion Sammy Guevara versus Aaron Solo, Blake Christian taking on Dark Order's Evil Uno, World TV Champion Komander welcoming Lee Johnson onto the Proving Ground, and so much more on tap!

After hitting the century mark last week, ROH ON HONOR CLUB continues to bring the hottest wrestling to Honor Club starting at 7pm ET/6pm CT tonight exclusively at WatchROH.com! A new episode drops every single Thursday night, but that's not all Honor Club has to offer! In addition to that weekly program, it's also the home for 20+ years of Ring of Honor history featuring the best competitors of the last two decades, with television archives dating back to 2011, hundreds of live events beginning with THE ERA OF HONOR BEGINS, and the continually expanding “Best Of...” collection that showcases the amazing athletes who helped build ROH over the years, including Bryan Danielson, The Kings of Wrestling, Kyle O'Reilly, The Kingdom, and in celebration of ROH's impending 23rd anniversary, we are adding ROH: YEAR ONE to the collection!

ROH WOMEN'S WORLD TV TITLE MATCH...

Red Velvet(c) vs. Leila Grey

PROVING GROUND MATCH...

ROH World Champion Komander vs. Lee Johnson

Last week during HONOR CLUB #100, Komander put his World Television Championship on the line against QT Marshall. It was a title bout that Marshall earned via time limit draw in his Proving Ground match, but he was unable to parlay that opportunity into championship success. However the fact that he even got to the title bout demonstrated that Komander could be taken to the 10-minute time limit draw. The majority of the Proving Ground bouts we've witnessed since HONOR CLUB #1 have circled around Athena and the Women's World Title, but through 29 Proving Ground bouts, not one person has earned a shot at “The Forever Champion” in this fashion. Lee Moriarty earned a Pure Title fight with Wheeler Yuta via Proving Ground that led to his title victory and current championship reign. The Infantry earned one in the tag team division opposite Undisputed Kingdom but were unable to roll that into a title win. That's where it ends, at least in the time frame since 3/2/23 when ROH ON HONOR CLUB was born, 67 Proving Ground matches to date, only three competitors have accomplished what needed to be done in order to earn a title fight, and all three have come via time limit draw.

Lee Johnson has participated in two of those matches over the last two years, both in attempts to earn a World Title Match, the first against Claudio Castagnoli and the second opposite Eddie Kingston. He was unable to earn the title shot at those times, but it has been 16 months since the last time Lee tried, so long before he had EJ Nduka at his side as support. Will that be the difference maker as “Big Shotty” attempts to earn another crack at the title he's been chasing since FINAL BATTLE 2023? Will Komander be the first competitor in the new era of honor to fail in two Proving Ground matches, or did he learn from the QT Marshall bout what he needs to adjust?

ONE-ON-ONE...

Dark Order's Evil Uno vs. Blake Christian

Even though FINAL BATTLE 2024 wasn't a victorious night for Blake Christian, it was still a game-changing experience. He may have lost in the World TV Title Survival of the Fittest match, but he was one of the last two standing alongside Komander, and the vitriol he earned from the fans when he hit Mark Davis low was quite the sound to hear.

Since that night in NYC, Blake has won three consecutive matches and aims to continue that roll until he gets right back into position to fight Komander for the title he almost won just a month ago. If Blake keeps on the roll he's currently on, that will come his way sooner than later, but he's got a roadblock named Evil Uno standing in his way tonight during HONOR CLUB!

While Uno tends towards multi-man competition alongside his Dark Order brothers, he's an accomplished solo competitor over the course of his career, and is currently 3-3 with one-on-one competition here in ROH with his last a victory during HONOR CLUB #79.

Can Uno put a stop to the roll Blake Christian has been on since FINAL BATTLE '24, or will “Vanilla Baby” continue to climb the ranks here in Ring of Honor?

SINGLES MATCH...

Brandon Cutler vs. Serpentico

Speaking of climbing the ranks, with Brandon Cutler and Serpentico we have two individuals who are looking to make an impact on Ring of Honor as the company enters its 23rd year, but who have each struggled to find their footing. It has been hard for each man to find consistency in their respective Ring of Honor experiences but tonight during HONOR CLUB each aims to try! Serpentico looks to rebound off two consecutive singles losses while Cutler, returning to ROH for the first time since HONOR CLUB #87 last October, hopes for his first singles victory in ROH competition! It's been more than two years since the last time these two competitors went one-on-one, and that night on DARK: ELEAVTION #84 it was Cutler who scored the victory. Will we see the same result in this rematch, or will it be Serpentico who notches a win on his ROH resume?

ONE-ON-ONE...

ROH World Tag Champion Sammy Guevara vs. Aaron Solo

Speaking of rematches, it's been over four years since the last time Sammy Guevara and Aaron Solo clashed inside the squared circle! AEW DARK #68 hosted Guevara's victory over Solo, one of Aaron's earliest matches in AEW as a matter of fact, just his seventh singles match since debuting with AEW a few months prior. Both man have undergone quite a lot since that December 2020 meeting, especially Guevara whose path has included The Inner Circle, The Jericho Appreciation Society, multiple TNT Championship reigns, starting a family with Tay Melo, winning the ROH World Tag Team Titles with Dustin Rhodes, and traveling to Japan for WRESTLE DYNASTY 2025 to defend them!

However tonight Sammy's a man alone, fighting in just his third singles match for Ring of Honor, and against a man such as Aaron Solo who first fought Sammy back in 2017. Will this be Solo's night to, perhaps, earn a future Tag Team Championship match by beating Guevara or instead a chance for Sammy to show he's still as good flying solo as he's ever been?
